Customer service explained that this stapler isn't designed to staple 50-75 times per day and that we were exceeding its design parameters. What? So, if you want to staple a few times per day, this should be fine. But if you actually have work to do, skip this one. And I wouldn't buy the 5000 pack of staples, you won't get that far.I don't know if Bostitch changed manufacturing practice, or if they just produced a bunch of lemons, but the ones on offer now are just shoddy imitations. Bought in mid-November, first one died early January (roughly 10 days out of return window) Thinking it was a fluke, bought another a few days later mid-Jan. Dying as I write this on March 3, 16 days past return window. Time to try ANYTHING else.I wish I returned it when I had the chance. The slot where you insert paper is very small for a stapler that is supposed to staple up to 45 sheets. It will staple the sheets of paper and get stuck because the slot is just that small. I coworker recently tried to staple less than 45 sheets, the stapler stapled but she couldn't get the paper out and the stapler just continued to staple. It had to be unplugged just so the paper could removed and it wasn't easy. Not recommended.We use it regularly and yes you can hear it but it's not like what's been described by others to us. We've not had even one failure using it. Would buy again if needed. As of about a month ago, the stapler failed at times, failed completely at other times and sometimes when you're not even near it - it goes off. I contacted Bostitch and I printed out a return form and mailed it to them. It's now been over a month and NO contact from Bostitch. Waiting???? WELL the wait is over. While I had received no communication from Bostitch, yesterday (10-03-2018) I received a package in the mail. Bostitch is to be commended for their follow through and I appreciate it VERY much. Up grading my rating to 5 stars due to Bostitch's response. They did listen. Thanks - will keep you posted on the new stapler.It is ridiculous. I paid 40 bucks for it because we needed to staple a full month of receipts together and it is the worst office product I ever owned. You have to concentrate and hold steady to get the papers in that small space, which may not be an issue with letter size papers, but anything smaller or lighter than that is a chore to use. I was attempting to reload staples for the first time and it will not, can not, refuses to open. It is rather worthless and if anyone reads this and still spends 40 bucks for nothing.you'll be in my shoes. I read reviews first and still picked a pos.It allows me to take 20-30 pages and instantly staple them. No longer having to pick up a stapler, set it down, pick it back up, misplace it, drop it, and everything in between has made my classroom management even better than it was, and I'm a great manager of space and time. Having the extra time to eat my lunch, order groceries online and text the husband when food consumption time comes makes this product a huge win for me. I already have two teachers that bring their items to my classroom each morning to staple their printouts for the day; it does save that much time. If it ever breaks, I will buy it again (if out of warranty).Never jammed. I got to use it for about a week before it just stopped working. I sat down at my desk one morning and nothing. I replaced it with it's 30 page cousine model 02210. We'll see.It's a sturdy, powerful stapler and works well for stapling thick stacks of papers, but also works well for light use of 2-3 sheets. Note that it requires special Bostitch crown staples (B8) which come in two lengths. Update after two weeks: Still functioning well; easily deals with 25 sheets at a time and staples are cleanly through and secure. Have become used to the sleek thin black coloured look of the machine and its footprint on desk is not at all overwhelming. Died in September 2017. Machine did not die from over use or abuse; rather, it simply stopped working. No amount of love and care could bring it back so this expensive electric stapler did not make it to a second birthday.
